Swimming
In 2024/25 and 2025/26, the Year 6 pupils will participate in an intensive swimming course during the second half of the summer term. There will be additional swimming lessons for Year 6 pupils who cannot swim.
In 2025/26, the Year 5 children have weekly swimming lessons.
When the Year 6 pupils left Mather Street in July 2025, the percentage of pupils who met the National Curriculum standards for swimming:
80% could swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres
73% of pupils could use a range of strokes effectively
90% of pupils performed safe self-rescue to a satisfactory standard
